Cruz's 28 points and 8 rebounds give him TBN Player of the Week award

24-year old guard Yassir Cruz (G-1999) had a great game in the last round for Golden B Hurricane and receives a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had the game-high 28 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Hurricane in his team's victory, helping them to beat Sur Rivas (#19, 3-12) 101-95. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Hurricane is placed at 14th position in Nicaraguan TBN. Hurricane is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-11 record. In the team's last game Cruz had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Hurricane, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cruz has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.4ppg) and averages solid 2.2spg.

Second best performed player last round was Luis Urbina (180-SG-1996) of Frente Sur Rivas. He is a guard in his 4th season at Sur Rivas. In the last game Urbina recorded an impressive 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Sur Rivas lost that game 95-101 to the higher-ranked Hurricane (#14, 6-11). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Sur Rivas keeps 19th position. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Sur Rivas managed to get this year. Urbina is one of the most experienced players at Sur Rivas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.2ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 4.8apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ervin Morgan (193-PF-1986) of Super-Santiago de Carazo (#10). Morgan scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Carazo, leading his team to a 68-60 win against the lower-ranked UNAN de M. (#15, 6-11). Carazo needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 8 lost games. Morgan has a very solid season. In 2 games in Nicaragua he scored 17.5ppg.
