Downs number one in Nicaraguan TBN for round 15

Lindell Downs had a very impressive game in the last round for Leones ALMA de Managua, receiving a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 15.
The player was the main contributor (17 points, eight rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat UNAN de M. (6-12) 71-56. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Leones is placed at 15th position in Nicaraguan TBN. Leones is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-12 record. In the team's last game Downs had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Lindell Downs has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (4th best: 0.6apg).

The second best player in last round's games was Michael Lampson of Jass de Managua. Lampson had a very good evening with 7 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Jass lost that game 48-62 to the higher-ranked Caribbean Coast (#8, 10-5). This loss caused Jass to drop to 18th position in the standings. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Jass managed to get this year. Lampson is one of the most experienced players at Jass and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Kevin Leiva (F) of La Libertad (#12). Leiva scored 24 points. Despite Leiva's great performance the La Libertad lost 57-67 to the higher-ranked Brumas (#1, 17-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of La Libertad ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Leiva could help La Libertad to bring them higher in the standings. Leiva has a great season in Nicaragua. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (5th best). He also has a FGP of 58.2% and 3PT: 43.7%.
