Best players of Nicaraguan TBN round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

Mario Garcia (182-PG-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Jaguares de la UAM and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 23-year old playmaker had the game-high 70 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Jaguares in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Leon (#21, 0-20) with 105-point margin 161-56. Jaguares maintains the 3rd position in Nicaraguan TBN. They are still close to the very top. Jaguares would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-3 record. In the team's last game Garcia had a remarkable twenty one three-pointers out of 45 attempts. He just recently signed at Jaguares, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Mario Garcia averages this season 16.5ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international center Rudy Taylor (198-C-1983) of San Judas. Taylor impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 25 rebounds. Of course San Judas cruised to a 77-68 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Tigres (#8, 11-9). San Judas' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 14-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Taylor is one of the most experienced players at San Judas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Reynaldo Sanchez (PF) of Jass de Managua (#18). Sanchez scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Sanchez's great performance the Jass lost 70-93 to slightly lower-ranked Alcaldia Alma (#20, 3-16). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Jass can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Sanchez has a very solid season. In 9 games in Nicaragua he scored 8.2ppg. He also has 5.6rpg and 1.1bpg.
