Arnulfo Mendoza's triple-double lands him TBN Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

23-year old point guard Arnulfo Mendoza (173-PG-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Brumas de Jinotega and receives a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 17.
He recorded a triple-double of 26 points adding also 12 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team outclassed Sur Rivas (#19, 3-15) with 76-point margin 125-49. It allowed Brumas to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan TBN. Brumas has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 18-1. In the team's last game Mendoza had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Brumas, through which he has constantly improved. Mendoza has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (9th best: 2.7apg) and averages solid 65.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Juan Herrera (187-PF-1996). He is former international forward in his 6th season at Brumas. In the last game Herrera recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Mendoza he helped Brumas de Jinotega with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Sur Rivas (#19, 3-15) 125-49. Of course Brumas still keep the league's top spot. His team belongs to top of the standings with 18-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Herrera is one of the most experienced players at Brumas and similarly like Arnulfo Mendoza has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Roger Munoz (208-C-1984) of league's second-best Tipitapa. Munoz showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tipitapa, leading his team to a 76-56 easy win against #4 ranked Jaguares in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Tipitapa as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 18 victories and only one lost game. Munoz has a very solid season. In 18 games in Nicaragua he scored 8.8ppg. He also has 7.9rpg and 1.1bpg.
