Lopez number one in Nicaraguan TBN for round 18 (by Hoops Agents)

Shooting guard Erling Lopez (SG-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for La Libertad, receiving a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (41 points, four rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Bonanza (#17, 6-14) 95-86. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. La Libertad maintains the 12th position in Nicaraguan TBN. La Libertad is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-9 record. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at La Libertad, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Erling Lopez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.9ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was Wilson Batista of Tigres de Chinandega. Batista had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Tigres to another comfortable win 83-64 over the lower-ranked Alcaldia Alma (#20, 3-17) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Tigres to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 12-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Batista is one of the most experienced players at Tigres and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Yassir Cruz (G-1999) of Golden B Hurricane (#14). Cruz showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hurricane, leading his team to a 80-79 win against the lower-ranked Jass (#18, 5-14). The chances of Hurricane not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cruz could try to bring Hurricane's a little bit higher in the standings. Cruz has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (4th best). He also has 2.2spg and a FGP of 51.1%.
