Lopez number one in Nicaragua LSB for round 3 (by Hoops Agents)

International Center Bartel Lopez (213-C-1989) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Real Esteli, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 35-year old player had a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Indigenas (#8, 0-3) with 32-point margin 85-53. Real Esteli maintains the 2nd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Real Esteli will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Real Esteli, through which he has constantly improved. Bartel Lopez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 9.8rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Antonio Gordon (206-SF -2001) of Brumas de Jinotega. Gordon had a very good evening with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Brumas to another comfortable win outscoring Leones (0-3) 105-71. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Gordon is one of the most experienced players at Brumas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 3.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Dominican Rep. guard Francisco Alvarez (SG) of Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (#4). Alvarez scored 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (!!!). Despite Alvarez's great performance the UNI Basket lost 67-106 to #3 ranked UNAN de L.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing UNI Basket needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Alvarez has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 21.5rpg (#1 in league).
