32-year old Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Costa Caribe Managua and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 31 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Costa Caribe in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Tigres (#6, 3-6) with 35-point margin 101-66. Thanks to this victory Costa Caribe moved-up to the 3rd position in Nicaraguan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Costa Caribe will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Matos had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Costa Caribe's top player in his first season with the team. Matos has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.6ppg), assists (2nd best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 2.9spg and 63.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Dean Tylan (185-G-1999) of Indigenas de Matagalpa. He is American guard in his first season at Indigenas. In the last game Tylan recorded an impressive double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Indigenas lost that game 81-108 to slightly higher-ranked Tigres (#6, 3-6). Despite lost game Indigenas moved up to 8th position in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Indigenas managed to get this year. Tylan is a newcomer at Indigenas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.8ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 8.3rpg and 5.2apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Costa Caribe's star - forward Owens Perez (206-F/C-1992). Perez showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Costa Caribe Managua, helping his team with a 101-66 easy win against the lower-ranked Tigres (#6, 3-6). Costa Caribe needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 3 lost games. Perez has a very solid season. In 3 games in Nicaragua he scored 18.7ppg.
