Jorge Gonzalez's triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-G/F-1995) had a great game in the last round for Costa Caribe Managua, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old player recorded a triple-double of 17 points adding also 12 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team outclassed Indigenas (#8, 2-10) with 58-point margin 125-67. Costa Caribe maintains the 3rd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Costa Caribe will need more victories to improve their 8-3 record. In the team's last game Gonzalez had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Costa Caribe's top player in his first season with the team. Jorge Gonzalez averages this season 16.3ppg, 7.3rpg and 7.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Costa Caribe's star - young Puerto Rican Owens Perez (206-F/C-1992). Perez had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Of course together with Gonzalez he helped Costa Caribe Managua with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 2-10) 125-67. Costa Caribe's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 8-3 record is not bad at all. Perez is a newcomer at Costa Caribe, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Antonio Gordon (206-SF -2001) of league's second-best Brumas de Jinotega. Gordon showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Brumas, leading his team to a 107-65 easy win against the lower-ranked UNI Basket (#9, 2-10). Brumas is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Gordon has a great season in Nicaragua. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 8.9rpg (7th best) and assists with 4.3apg (7th best). He also has 2.4spg, 1.6bpg and a FGP of 66.0%.
