It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Jaguares. Costa Caribe forced 22 Jaguares turnovers. Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-1995) fired 17 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-1992) chipped in 11 points and 14 rebounds. American Milik Yarbrough (198-1995, college: Illinois St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Jaguares' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-3 record having just two point less than leader Jaguares, which they share with UNAN de. Jaguares at the other side still keep top place with one game lost.
The game in Matagalpa supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked UNAN de (9-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Indigenas (2-11). UNAN de smashed Indigenas 95-73. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican center Jose Familia (201-1998) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Xavier dela Rosa contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Dean Tylan (185-1999, college: Rogers St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists for Indigenas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UNAN de have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Costa Caribe. Indigenas at the other side keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with UNI Basket.
The game in Esteli was also quite interesting. Third ranked Brumas (9-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Real Esteli (6-6). Brumas did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 78-59 on Sunday. Brumas' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Ponce Ferguson responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Brumas have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Real Esteli keeps the fifth position with six games lost.
In the last two games of round 10 Leones were defeated by Brumas in Jinotega 95-79. Bottom-ranked UNI Basket was beaten by Tigres at home 99-101.
