Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-F/C-1992) was the top scorer of the day in the world yesterday with the 38 points he had in the Nicaraguan league. His excellent performance made his team Costa Caribe beat the Leones 101 to 90. He also grabbed 17 rebounds and got 5 assists that game. Perez is the 4th best scorer in the league averaging over 21 points and almost 12 rebounds per game. Among many awards he won the Nicaraguan LSB championship title in 2023. He was also selected as the Latinbasket All-Nicaraguan LSB Import Player of the Year and selected to the First Team in 2023. He was also selected to the Latinbasket El Salvador Liga Mayor Torneo Apertura All-Imports Team as well as the Second Team back in 2021.
