32-year old Puerto Rican power forward Owens Perez (206-F/C-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Costa Caribe Managua and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 38 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Leones (#7, 3-10) 101-90. Costa Caribe is placed at 2nd position in Nicaraguan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Costa Caribe will need more victories to improve their 10-3 record. In the team's last game Perez had a remarkable 55.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Costa Caribe's top player in his first season with the team. Owens Perez averages this season 21.5ppg, 11.8rpg and 4.8apg.

Second best performed player last round was Deondre Wade (194-G/F) of Leones ALMA de Managua. He is American swingman in his first season at Leones. In the last game Wade recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Leones lost that game 90-101 to the higher-ranked Costa Caribe (#2, 10-3). Leones is still second from the bottom in the standings. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Leones managed to get this year. Wade is a newcomer at Leones and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#3). He also registered 8.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jarret Branch (203-F-1997) of Tigres de Chinandega (#6). Branch showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Branch's great performance the Tigres lost 84-93 to the higher-ranked UNAN de L. (#3, 10-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Tigres not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Branch could try to bring Tigres' a little bit higher in the standings. Branch has a very solid season. In 12 games in Nicaragua he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 7.8rpg and a FGP of 51.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Xavier dela Rosa (196-SG-1991) of UNAN de L. - 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Ezequiel Colon (187-G-1999) of Tigres - 37 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
