Real Esteli lands Carlos Lopez-Sosa, ex Ponce

Carlos Lopez-Sosa

Real Esteli (LSB) landed experienced 34-year old Puerto Rican ex-international 209cm center Carlos Lopez-Sosa (college: UNLV). Lopez-Sosa played this summer at Ponce in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 35 games just recently he averaged 3.1ppg and 2.7rpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Lopez-Sosa was also a member of Puerto Rican international program for some years. He played for Puerto Rican Senior National Team between 2013 and 2020 and previously for U21 National Team back in 2006.
Lopez-Sosa also represented Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla (Colombia) six years ago. Lopez-Sosa's team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: 4.3ppg, 2.0rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Lopez-Sosa has played also professionally in Mexico (Panteras, Abejas and Angeles), Puerto Rico (Atleticos and Capitanes), Nicaragua (Jaguares), NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats) and El Salvador (Aguila).
Among many awards he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Nicaraguan LSB Honorable Mention in 2023.
He graduated from University of Nevada - Las Vegas in 2014 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
