Puerto Rican Guard Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) had a very impressive game in the last round for Costa Caribe Managua, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (33 points, four rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Tigres (#6, 6-12) with 45-point margin 98-53. Thanks to this victory Costa Caribe moved-up to the 4th position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Costa Caribe will need more victories to improve their 14-5 record. In the team's last game Matos had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Costa Caribe's top player in his first season with the team. Jorge Matos has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.4ppg), assists (8th best: 5.1apg) and averages impressive 55.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Costa Caribe's star - young Jorge Gonzalez (198-G/F-1995). Gonzalez had a very good evening with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course together with Matos he helped Costa Caribe Managua with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Real Esteli (#5, 9-9) 90-64. Despite this victory Costa Caribe slide down in the standings to 4th position. His team's 14-5 record is not bad at all. Gonzalez is a newcomer at Costa Caribe, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 5.8rpg and 6.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Milik Yarbrough (198-SF-1995) of league's top team Jaguares de la UAM. Yarbrough showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 8 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Jaguares, leading his team to a 91-80 win against the lower-ranked Leones (#7, 5-13). Jaguares confirms their top position in the standings. Yarbrough has a very solid season. In 16 games in Nicaragua he scored 13.6ppg. He also has 7.8rpg, 4.1apg, 1.6bpg, a FGP of 54.3% and 3PT: 49.5%.
