Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 16

American-Puerto Rican Antonio Gordon (206-SF -2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for Brumas de Jinotega and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 23-year old had the game-high 36 points adding seven rebounds and eight assists for Brumas in his team's victory, helping them to crush Leones (#7, 5-13) with 21-point margin 113-92. Brumas maintains the 3rd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Brumas will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Gordon had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Brumas' top player in his first season with the team. Oklahoma Christian University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gordon is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.5ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.1rpg), assists (6th best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 2.2bpg,2.4spg,68.5% FGP and 61.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Dean Tylan (185-G-1999) of Indigenas de Matagalpa. Tylan impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Indigenas was edged by slightly higher-ranked Tigres (#6, 6-12) 100-97. Indigenas managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Indigenas managed to get this year. Tylan is a newcomer at Indigenas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 8.1rpg and 7.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was Marcus Desmond of Tigres de Chinandega (#6). Desmond showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, 25 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Tigres, leading his team to a 100-97 win against slightly lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 3-15). The chances of Tigres not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Desmond could try to bring Tigres' a little bit higher in the standings. Desmond has a very solid season. In 4 games in Nicaragua he scored 9.8ppg.
