Cruz's 61-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old Puerto Rican shooting guard Ismael Cruz (190-SG-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for Real Esteli and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had the game-high 61 points adding four rebounds and seven assists for Real Esteli in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Indigenas (#8, 3-16) with 45-point margin 145-100. Real Esteli maintains the 5th position in Nicaraguan league. Real Esteli is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-9 record. In the team's last game Cruz had a remarkable seventeen three-pointers out of 35 attempts. He turned to be Real Esteli's top player in his first season with the team. Ismael Cruz averages just after two games 47.5ppg and 5.0apg.

Second best performed player last round was Jared Ruiz (188-SF-1992, agency: BMS Sport Agency). He is naturalized Puerto Rican in his first season at Real Esteli. In the last game Ruiz recorded an impressive triple-double of 30 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course together with Cruz he helped Real Esteli with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 3-16) 145-100. Real Esteli's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 10-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ruiz is a newcomer at Real Esteli and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Francisco Alvarez (SG) of Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (#9). Alvarez scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Alvarez's great performance the UNI Basket lost 71-131 to the higher-ranked Jaguares (#1, 16-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. UNI Basket can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-18 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Alvarez has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.6rpg (#1 in league).
