Lopez's 37-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-G-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for Costa Caribe Managua and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had the game-high 37 points adding two rebounds and nine assists for Costa Caribe in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Leones (#6, 7-15) with 29-point margin 110-81. Costa Caribe maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Costa Caribe will need more victories to improve their 16-5 record. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 14 attempts. He turned to be Costa Caribe's top player in his first season with the team. University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lopez is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 6.0rpg) and averages solid 2.7spg and 61.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jared Ruiz (188-SF-1992, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of Real Esteli. He is naturalized Puerto Rican in his first season at Real Esteli. In the last game Ruiz recorded an impressive 37 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Real Esteli to edge the higher-ranked Jaguares (#2, 16-5) by 3 points 80-77. Real Esteli's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 14-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ruiz is a newcomer at Real Esteli and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Xavier dela Rosa (196-SG-1991) of league's leader UNAN de Leon. dela Rosa showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of UNAN de, leading his team to a 107-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Tigres (#7, 6-15). UNAN de confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 5 lost games. dela Rosa has a great season in Nicaragua. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.7apg (3rd best). He also has 2.3spg, 1.3bpg, a FGP of 54.6% and 3PT: 45.6%.
