Best players of Nicaraguan LSBF round 6

Experienced Cuban Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Tipitapa Deportes Managua and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 32-year old playmaker had the game-high 28 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Tipitapa in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Leonas (#4, 3-8) with 31-point margin 93-62. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tipitapa to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan LSBF. Tipitapa has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. In the team's last game Tornell had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Tipitapa's top player in her first season with the team. Tornell has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.8ppg), assists (3rd best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 3.7spg and 58.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Mexican power forward Kimberly Taylor (182-PF-1997) of second-ranked Jaguares UAM Managua. Taylor impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It was enough for Jaguares to edge slightly lower-ranked Real Esteli (#3, 6-5) by 6 points 72-66. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Jaguares consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Taylor is a newcomer at Jaguares and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#7). Her other stats are also decent: 7.0rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Tipitapa's star - international forward Shannen Peralta (F-2003). Peralta showcased her all-around game by recording 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Tipitapa Deportes Managua, helping her team with a 108-33 easy win against UNI (#5, 0-11). Many experts and fans count Tipitapa as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Peralta has a great season in Nicaragua. After 11 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.1ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.5rpg (4th best). She also has 3.2spg and a FGP of 51.4%.
