Puerto Rican Ismael Cruz (190-SG-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for Real Esteli and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 24-year old shooting guard recorded a triple-double of 11 points adding also 12 rebounds and 34 assists, while his team outclassed Tigres (#7, 6-18) with 64-point margin 132-68. Real Esteli maintains the 5th position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Real Esteli will need more victories to improve their 15-8 record. In the team's last game Cruz had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Real Esteli's top player in his first season with the team. Ismael Cruz averages this season 24.3ppg, 7.4rpg and 9.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international forward Josmel Martinez (198-F-1999, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of second-ranked Jaguares de la UAM. Martinez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Jaguares to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 3-21) 121-62. This victory allowed Jaguares to move up to second position in the standings. His team's 19-5 record is not bad at all. Martinez is a newcomer at Jaguares and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Jaguares' star - American Jeff Allen (201-C/F-1987, agency: BMS Sport Agency). Allen showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Jaguares de la UAM, helping his team with a 121-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Indigenas (#8, 3-21). Jaguares needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 5 lost games. Allen has a very solid season. In 3 games in Nicaragua he scored 15.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Francisco Alvarez (SG) of UNI Basket - 13 points and 18 rebounds
5. Ponce Ferguson (C-2001) of Real Esteli - 15 points and 10 rebounds
6. Wilson Batista (SF-2003) of Tigres - 33 points and 5 rebounds
7. Jensen Campbell (198-C/F-1998) of Real Esteli - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Mario Garcia (182-PG-2000) of Jaguares - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Angel Alvarado (196-F-2004) of UNI Basket - 14 points and 12 rebounds
10. Windell Sloan (195-F/C-1987) of Costa Caribe - 16 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
