The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Tipitapa (11-2) in Managua on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Jaguares (10-2) 91-74. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Jaguares made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and American guard Destiny Pitts (178-1999, college: Texas A&M) who added 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Jaguares have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Even 7 points and 6 rebounds by guard Jennifer Espinoza (-2005) did not help to save the game for Leonas. Real Esteli maintains third position with 7-6 record having four points less than leader Tipitapa. Leonas at the other side keep the fourth place with nine games lost.

Tipitapa dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to UNI's 26. Tipitapa forced 49 UNI turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 28-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tipitapa looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by UNI's players. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Shannen Peralta (-2003) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Tipitapa players scored in double figures.
