Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 3

Experienced Venezuelan Miguel Bolivar (205-C-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Leones ALMA de Managua and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 33-year old center had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds for Leones as his team lost the game against the league's best team Brumas (#1, 2-0) 76-86. Leones moved-up to the 5th position in Nicaraguan LSB. Leones is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 1st lost game this season out of 2 games. In the team's last game Bolivar had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Leones' top player in his first season with the team. Bolivar has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Tyrell Mendenhall (206-F-1998) of Tigres de Chinandega. Mendenhall impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Tigres was edged by Costa Caribe (2-1) 89-85. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Mendenhall is a newcomer at Tigres and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Dominican Rep. Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) of Flecheros de Matagalpa (#4). Polanco scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Flecheros, leading his team to a 71-67 win against Real Esteli (#6, 0-3). Flecheros needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Polanco has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.7ppg (6th best).
