Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 7 (by Hoops Agents)

International Forward Josmel Martinez (198-F-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Jaguares de la UAM and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Costa Caribe (#3, 3-3) with 19-point margin 103-84. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Jaguares to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan LSB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Jaguares already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. Martinez turned to be Jaguares' top player in his first season with the team. Josmel Martinez averages this season 15.3ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) of Costa Caribe Managua. Matos impressed basketball fans with 35 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Costa Caribe lost that game 84-103 to league's leader Jaguares (#1, 6-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Costa Caribe still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Matos is a newcomer at Costa Caribe and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.5ppg (#1). He also registered 7.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was international guard Juan Herrera (187-SG-1996) of second-ranked Brumas de Jinotega. Herrera scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Herrera's great performance the Brumas lost 82-91 to the lower-ranked Tigres (#7, 1-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Brumas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Herrera has a very solid season. In 6 games in Nicaragua he scored 9.3ppg. He also has 5.0rpg and a FGP of 70.0%.
