Puerto Rican Guard Luis Lopez (182-G-1998) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Jaguares de la UAM, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (63 points, four rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Real Esteli (#5, 4-6) 121-115. It allowed Jaguares to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan LSB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Jaguares keeps a perfect 9-0 record. In the team's last game Lopez had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got twelve three-pointers out of 27 attempts. He turned to be Jaguares' top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez star has very solid stats this year. Lopez is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.6ppg), assists (2nd best: 6.8apg) and averages impressive 52.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Puerto Rican Jared Ruiz (188-SF-1992) of Real Esteli. Ruiz had a very good evening with 45 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Real Esteli lost that game 115-121 to league's leader Jaguares (#1, 9-0). Despite lost game Real Esteli moved up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Ruiz is a newcomer at Real Esteli, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 4.2rpg and 6.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Real Esteli's star - Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-G-1991). De Jesus showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Real Esteli, helping his team with a 104-99 win against slightly higher-ranked Flecheros (#3, 5-4). The chances of Real Esteli ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, De Jesus could help Real Esteli to bring them higher in the standings. De Jesus has a very solid season. In 4 games in Nicaragua he scored 16.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jerry Jefferson) of Real Esteli - 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Kevin Andino (186-SG-2002) of Flecheros - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
