LSB Round 10 (Regular Season): Jaguares beat Brumas in the most crucial game of the week

An exciting game was played in Managua. Top-ranked Jaguares faced their biggest opponent Brumas. Host Jaguares (9-0) defeated guests from Jinotega (6-3) 77-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brumas. Jaguares had a 42-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-1998, college: PR-Mayaguez) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American center Tamell Pearson (208-1999, college: App State, agency: JCK Sports Group) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Jaguares have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Brumas at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. Jaguares' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Managua Leones.
The game in Esteli supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Costa Caribe (3-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Real Esteli (4-6). Real Esteli smashed Costa Caribe 107-83. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Jared Ruiz (188-1992) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Jerry Jefferson contributed with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. replied with 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists for Costa Caribe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Esteli moved-up to fifth place. Costa Caribe lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Real Esteli will play against bottom-ranked Tigres (#7) in Corinto in the next round. Costa Caribe will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 10 bottom-ranked Tigres were defeated by Leones in Managua 96-83.
The best stats of 10th round was 47 points (!!!) by Luis Gonzalez of Leones.

There was no surprise in Managua where 7th ranked Tigres (2-8) were defeated by fourth ranked Leones (4-5) 96-83. Leones forced 22 Tigres turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. It was a very good performance for Puerto Rican point guard Luis Gonzalez (183-1997, college: PR-Bayamon) who helped to win the game recording 47 points (!!!). contributed with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Puerto Rican guard Ezequiel Colon (193-1999, college: Lehman) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Leslie Serrano added 19 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tigres. Tigres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leones maintains fourth position with 4-5 record. Tigres at the other side stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Leones' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Managua to the arena Jaguares.
