Puerto Rican Luis Gonzalez (183-PG-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Leones ALMA de Managua and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old playmaker had the game-high 47 points adding three rebounds and two assists for Leones in his team's victory, helping them to beat Tigres (#7, 2-8) 96-83. Leones maintains the 4th position in Nicaraguan LSB. Leones is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. In the team's last game Gonzalez had a remarkable thirteen three-pointers out of 18 attempts. He turned to be Leones' top player in his first season with the team. University of Puerto Rico Bayamon graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gonzalez is in league's top in assists (6th best: 3.3apg) and averages solid 56.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) of Costa Caribe Managua. Matos impressed basketball fans with 41 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Costa Caribe lost that game 83-107 to slightly higher-ranked Real Esteli (#5, 4-6). This loss caused Costa Caribe to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Matos is a newcomer at Costa Caribe and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.1ppg (#1). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Jerry Jefferson of Real Esteli (#5). Jefferson showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Real Esteli, leading his team to a 107-83 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Costa Caribe (#6, 3-7). The chances of Real Esteli ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jefferson could help Real Esteli to bring them higher in the standings. Jefferson has a very solid season. In 4 games in Nicaragua he scored 19.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jared Ruiz (188-SF-1992) of Real Esteli - 34 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Noah Williams (196-G-2001) of Leones - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Gerardo Texeira (195-PF-1997) of Jaguares - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jorge Gonzalez (198-G/F-1995) of Jaguares - 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
