Gonzalez number one in Nicaragua LSB for round 12

Swingman Jorge Gonzalez (198-G/F-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Jaguares de la UAM, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while his team edged out Costa Caribe (#6, 3-9) 113-109. It allowed Jaguares to consolidate first place in the Nicaraguan LSB. Jaguares has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Gonzalez had a remarkable 52.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Jaguares' top player in his first season with the team. Jorge Gonzalez has solid league stats. He is in league's top in assists (7th best: 5.3apg) and averages impressive 64.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Puerto Rican Robiel Morales (2001) of Costa Caribe Managua. Morales had a very good evening with a double-double of 38 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Costa Caribe was edged by the higher-ranked Jaguares (#1, 11-1) 113-109. Costa Caribe managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Costa Caribe managed to get this year. Morales is a newcomer at Costa Caribe, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Jaguares' star - Puerto Rican guard Luis Lopez (182-G-1998). Lopez got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and five assists. He was another key player of Jaguares de la UAM, helping his team with a 113-109 win against the lower-ranked Costa Caribe (#6, 3-9). Many experts and fans count Jaguares as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 11 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Lopez has a great season in Nicaragua. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.6ppg (2nd best) and assists with 6.3apg (3rd best).
