Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 13

American Eden Ewing (204-F/C-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Flecheros de Matagalpa and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Tigres (#7, 2-12) with 18-point margin 88-70. Flecheros is placed at 2nd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Flecheros will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game Ewing had a remarkable 64.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Flecheros' top player in his first season with the team. Texas Southern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ewing is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 8.9rpg), assists (9th best: 4.4apg) and averages solid 1.2bpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Puerto Rican guard Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) of Costa Caribe Managua. Matos impressed basketball fans with 37 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Costa Caribe to another comfortable win 93-75 over slightly lower-ranked Leones (#6, 4-9) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Costa Caribe to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Matos is a newcomer at Costa Caribe and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.9ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.5rpg and 3.5apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Flecheros' star - Filipino Renaldo Balkman (203-F/C-1984). Balkman got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Balkman's great performance the Flecheros de Matagalpa lost 88-91 to the lower-ranked Costa Caribe (#5, 5-8). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Flecheros needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Balkman has a great season in Nicaragua. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (#1 in league). He also has 2.4spg, 1.6bpg and a FGP of 56.0%.
