Colon's 38-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old Puerto Rican guard Ezequiel Colon (193-G-1999) had a great game in the last round for Tigres de Chinandega and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had the game-high 38 points adding five rebounds and seven assists for Tigres in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Leones (#6, 4-11) with 44-point margin 121-77. Tigres maintains the 7th position in Nicaraguan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 13 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Colon had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tigres' top player in his first season with the team. Lehman College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Colon is in league's top in points (4th best: 22.6ppg), rebounds (6th best: 8.8rpg), assists (8th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 58.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jorge Matos (185-G-1992) of Costa Caribe Managua. He is Puerto Rican guard in his first season at Costa Caribe. In the last game Matos recorded an impressive double-double of 41 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Costa Caribe cruised to a 110-101 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Tigres (#7, 3-13). Costa Caribe's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Matos is a newcomer at Costa Caribe and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 8.7rpg and 3.6apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tigres' star - Emmanuel Calderon (198-SF-1998). Calderon got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He was another key player of Tigres de Chinandega, helping his team with a 121-77 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Leones (#6, 4-11). Calderon has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.3ppg (8th best).
