Best players of Nicaraguan LSB round 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American-Puerto Rican Antonio Gordon (206-C-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Brumas de Jinotega and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 24-year old center had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Brumas in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Flecheros (#3, 11-7) with 26-point margin 105-79. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Brumas maintains the 2nd position in Nicaraguan LSB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Brumas will need more victories to improve their 12-6 record. In the team's last game Gordon had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Brumas' top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Brumas' star - young American power forward Wilfredo Rodriguez (198-PF-1994). Rodriguez impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Gordon he helped Brumas de Jinotega with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Flecheros (#3, 11-7) 105-79. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Brumas consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 12-6 record is not bad at all. Rodriguez is a newcomer at Brumas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Brumas' star - Puerto Rican Evander Ortiz (180-PG-1997). Ortiz showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Ortiz's great performance the Brumas de Jinotega lost 76-87 to #4 ranked Real Esteli. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Brumas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 6 lost games. Ortiz has a great season in Nicaragua. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (7th best) and assists with 7.2apg (2nd best). He also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 50.9%.
