Castaneda number one in Nicaraguan TBN for round 6

Sidney Castaneda had an amazing evening in the last round for San Isidro, receiving a Hoops Agents TBN Player of the Week award for round 6.
The player had a double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Mineros (#11, 2-3) with 19-point margin 90-71. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory San Isidro moved-up to the 20th position in Nicaraguan TBN. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 4 games and recorded just one victory. Castaneda just recently signed at San Isidro, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Sidney Castaneda has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 12.0rpg) and averages impressive 55.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Erling Lopez (SG-1994) of Mineros de la Libertad. Lopez had a very good evening with 40 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as La Libertad lost that game 77-94 to the higher-ranked Frente (#9, 3-3). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. La Libertad dropped in the standings to 19th position. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory La Libertad managed to get this year. Lopez is well-known at La Libertad and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.8ppg (#2). He also registered 8.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Jason Espinoza of UNAN de Managua (#21). Espinoza showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of UNAN de, leading his team to a 93-59 easy win against the higher-ranked Leon (#17, 2-4). UNAN de can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-4 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Espinoza has individually a great season in Nicaragua. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.2rpg (2nd best).
