H.Safed Galil tabs Glen Rice Jr., ex Brillantes

Glen Rice

Hapoel Safed Galil (National League) signed 35-year-old American 198cm forward Glen Rice Jr. (college: Georgia Tech). He most recently played at Brillantes in the Venezuelan SPB league. In the 5 games he played, he averaged an impressive 15.6ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.2apg, and 1.2bpg this season.
In 2012, he was drafted by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in the fourth round (55th overall).
He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently in his 14th season in pro basketball.
Rice is a very experienced player. He has traveled between fifteen different countries on five different continents during his pro career. Rice has played professionally in Argentina (Instituto), Australia (Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Ahli), Iran (Chemidor), Lithuania (Juventus), Mexico (Aaguacateros and Halcones de Ciudad Obregon), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Criollos), Saudi Arabia (Al Fateh), Venezuela (Cocodrilos), Israel (Hapoel Holon and Maccabi Haifa), Dominican Republic (Plaza, Reales and Immortals), ABA (Atlanta Aliens), Nicaragua (Real Esteli and Flecheros) and Big3 (Power).
He won the Nicaraguan League championship title in 2025. He received the Latinbasket.com All-United Pro Invitational Sports Illustrated TKS Player of the Year award and the Latinbasket.com All-Nicaraguan League Defensive Player of the Year award during that year.
