Correcaminos defended LPB title. They rallied past Caballos in the title game on Friday to repeat as the champions. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Caballos managed to win fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Correcaminos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Caballos' 36. They outrebounded Caballos 43-30 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Correcaminos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The international point guard Anibal Salazar (178-88) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. He was named the Finals MVP. Naturalized American forward Tyler Gaskins (193-92, college: St.Peter's) chipped in 17 points. Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international swingman Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and American guard CJ Rodriguez (188, college: S.Nazarene) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
