Caballos - Panteras 66-63 The most exciting game of round 5 in the LPB U21 took place in Aguadulce. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Panteras (2-3) to fourth ranked Caballos (3-2) 66-63 in the game for the fourth place. Caballos forced 19 Panteras turnovers. The best player for the winners was Jose Montenegro (191-98) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Amilcar Sanchez chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Justin Diaz (187-2) produced 28 points and 9 rebounds and Isaac Machore added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Caballos maintains fourth place with 3-2 record. Panteras at the other side keep the fifth position with three games lost. This time they beat 6th ranked Dragones (1-4) 78-72 in Panama City. Univ.West made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Dragones outrebounded Univ.West 42-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. Point guard Gonzalo Ortiz Jr (182-2) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds. Franchesco Controny contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Center Jesus Lombardo (201-0) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Rupert Deam added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Dragones. Dragones' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Univ.West have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-1 record. Dragones lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with four games lost.
