Isaac Machore had a very impressive game in the last round for Panteras, receiving a Hoops Agents LPB U21 Player of the Week award for round 10.
The player was the main contributor (40 points, six rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Caballos (#3, 7-5) 75-71. Panteras maintains the 7th position in Panamanian LPB U21. Panteras is bottom ranked team in the standings. They need more victories to leave last spot and improve bad 4-8 record. In the team's last game Machore had a remarkable 73.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Panteras' top player in his first season with the team. Isaac Machore has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.8ppg), rebounds (7th best: 7.7rpg), assists (3rd best: 6.8apg) and averages impressive 3.9spg.
The second best player in last round's games was 21-year old Roberto Armstrong (182-SG) of league's second-best Correcaminos. Armstrong had a very good evening with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course Correcaminos cruised to a 66-59 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Toros (#4, 5-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Correcaminos consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 8-3 record is not bad at all. Armstrong is a newcomer at Correcaminos, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Jose Montenegro (191-SG-98) of Caballos (#3). Montenegro scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Caballos, leading his team to a 85-74 win against the lower-ranked Dragones (#6, 4-7). Caballos needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 5 lost games. Montenegro has a great season in Panama. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 10.8rpg (2nd best) and assists with 4.3apg (6th best). The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
