Montenegro re-signs at Caballos

Defending champion Caballos de Cocle Aguadulce (LPB) confirmed in their roster 23-year old shooting guard Jose Montenegro (191cm). Montenegro played there last season. In 6 Liga Americas games he recorded 7.2ppg and 4.5rpg. The last summer he played at Caballos (LPB U21) where in 12 games he was league's second best scorer with impressive 22.7ppg and had 11.9rpg (#2 in the league), 4.3apg (top 5), 1.0spg and 1.6bpg. He helped them to make it to the Panamanian LPB U21 final. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Panamanian LPB U21 Finals MVP and selected to 1st Team and League Player of the Week (2 times).
Montenegro represented Panama at the Central American Games in Managua (Nicaragua) four years ago.
He has played previously professionally in Nicaragua (Jass).
Montenegro won Panamanian LPB championship title in 2020.
