Munoz number one in Panama for round 9- October 2, 2021
The 41-year old player got a double-double of 15 points and 13 assists, while his team edged out Correcaminos (#1, 7-2) 79-75. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Dragones maintains the 4th position in Panamanian LPB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Dragones will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Munoz as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Joel Munoz has solid league stats. He is league's best passer with 7.5apg. Munoz is in league's top in and averages impressive 57.1% FGP. The second best player in last round's games was 41-year old Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of league's leader Correcaminos. Lloreda had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Correcaminos was edged by the lower-ranked Dragones (#4, 4-3) 79-75. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Correcaminos still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 7-2 record. Lloreda is a newcomer at Correcaminos, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.1ppg (#7). He also registered 14.9 boards per game. Third on the list of top players last round was Chilean guard Eugenio Luzcando (187-G-95) of league's second-best Universitarios. Luzcando showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and twelve assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Universitarios, leading his team to a 108-81 easy win against #3 ranked Atletico Nacional. Universitarios needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Luzcando has a great season in Panama. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.1apg (7th best). He also has 1.1bpg and FGP: 57.9%. Eugenio Luzcando has also Panamanian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player. Other top performing players last week: 4.
