Leones de Riobamba SC (Liga Basquet Pro) landed 29-year old American (has also Panamanian passport) 188cm point guard CJ Rodriguez (college: S.Nazarene) for new season. Rodriguez moved there from Gaiteros in Venezuelan SPB league where he started the season. In 8 games just recently he averaged 5.9ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.5apg. The last season he played at Hebraica in Uruguayan LUB. In two SPB games he had 12.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.0apg and 3.5spg.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on three different continents. Rodriguez is familiar with Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Argentino and Dep Viedma), Colombia (Motilones), Mexico (Mineros and Capitanes), Uruguay (Trouville), Panama (Caballos), Egypt (Haia Al Qana) and Ecuador (Punto Rojo).
Among many awards his team won Mexican LNBP 2020 East Division Regular Season in 2020. Rodriguez was voted to Latinbasket.com Panamanian LPB Clausura All-Domestic Players Team back in 2018.
He graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 2016 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. Rodriguez played also for Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa for one year.
