Javier Carter

Shiga Lakestars (B2 League) signed 33-year-old American (also has a Panamanian passport) center Javier Carter (203cm-1991, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. He is the second foreign player on the roster as USA Markeith Cummings signed earlier. He played last season with Akita Northern Happinets (B1 League). In 46 games, he averaged 9.5ppg, 6.8rpg, and 1.5apg. The B2 League will be a better match for him, and he can expect more playing time. The previous (2023) summer, he played for Killers in the U.S. semi-pro league Big3.
In 2015 (two years after his graduation) he was drafted by Bakersfield Jam (D-League) in the fourth round (60th overall).
He graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2013, and it will be his 12th season in pro basketball.
He is a quite experienced player. Carter has played in eleven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos), Chile (Valdivia), France (Gravenchon), Israel (Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin), Mexico (Soles), Panama (Caballos and Panteras), Spain (Caceres), Uruguay (Welcome and Carterbraica), Venezuela (Guaros), NBA G League (NAZ Suns) and Japan (Wyverns and Nagasaki).
He won the Uruguay LUB championship title in 2023. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Chilean Liga Nacional Honorable Mention in 2018.
