Castillo's double-double lands him LPB U23 Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

22-year old power forward Aldimir Castillo (203-F/C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Colon U23 team and receives a Hoops Agents LPB U23 Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Panama Metro (#2, 11-1) 82-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Colon to consolidate first place in the Panamanian LPB U23. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Colon keeps a perfect 16-0 record. In the team's last game Castillo had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Colon's top player in his first season with the team. Castillo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.2ppg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 62.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Roberto Mitchell of Bocas Del Toro U23 team. He is a in his first season at Bocas Del Toro. In the last game Mitchell recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds. Of course he led Bocas Del Toro to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Guna Yala (#11, 2-13) 104-62. Despite this victory Bocas Del Toro slide down in the standings to 7th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mitchell is a newcomer at Bocas Del Toro and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Gonzalo Ortiz Jr. (182-PG-2002) of Panama Norte U23 team (#4). Ortiz Jr. scored 29 points. Despite Ortiz Jr.'s great performance the Panama Norte lost 80-86 to the lower-ranked Panama Oeste (#9, 3-8). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Panama Norte needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 3 lost games. Ortiz Jr. has a great season in Panama. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (7th best) and assists with 3.5apg (9th best).
