The game between third ranked Cocle (12-8) and fifth ranked Panama Norte (10-5) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Cocle was defeated by Panama Norte in a tough game in Panama City 81-88. Panama Norte forced 19 Cocle turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Khristhopher Vega who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). point guard Gonzalo Ortiz Jr (182-2002) helped adding 21 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Joshua Lemon (180) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panama Norte maintains fifth place with 10-5 record. Cocle at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost.
The game in Bocas was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Panama Metro (14-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Bocas Del Toro (8-10). Panama Metro did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Guillermo Navarro (181-2003) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 9 assists. Diego Duque accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Juan Lewis (181-2004) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds for Bocas Del Toro in the defeat. Panama Metro have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-1 record having seven points less than leader Colon. Bocas Del Toro lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost.
