Navarro number one in Panamanian LPB U23 for round 11

Point guard Guillermo Navarro (181-PG-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Panama Metro U23 team, receiving a Hoops Agents LPB U23 Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, four rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Bocas Del Toro (#7, 8-10) with 17-point margin 89-72. Panama Metro maintains the 2nd position in Panamanian LPB U23. Panama Metro has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Navarro had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Panama Metro's top player in his first season with the team. Guillermo Navarro has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.5ppg) and averages impressive 60.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Khristhopher Vega of Panama Norte U23 team. Vega had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds. Of course Panama Norte cruised to a 88-81 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Cocle (#3, 12-8). Panama Norte's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 10-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Vega is a newcomer at Panama Norte and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Joshua Lemon (180-G/F) of Cocle U23 team (#3). Lemon got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and four assists. Despite Lemon's great performance the Cocle lost 81-88 to slightly lower-ranked Panama Norte (#5, 10-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Cocle needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 12 victories and 8 lost games. Lemon has a great season in Panama. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (3rd best) and assists with 3.8apg (7th best). He also has 3.7spg and a FGP of 57.6%.
