The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Toros in David on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Dragones 98-80. Strangely Toros outrebounded Dragonesxx' 31-0 including a 24- advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman C.J. Jones (198-1998, college: MTSU) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Joshua Lemon (180) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Swingman Amilcar Sanchez (191-2001) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
Very significant was Toros' (#3, 3-1) victory against Atletico 79-67. Center Jaime Lloreda (204-1980, college: LSU) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Guillermo Shuffler supported him with 12 points and 10 assists. Even 15 points by Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) did not help to save the game for Atletico Nacional. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
The game in was also quite interesting. Correcaminos played at the court of Union Scorpions. Correcaminos defeated Union Scorpions 84-73 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Gil Atencio who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Jhonny Murillo produced 25 points for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
In the last two games of round 2 winless Union Scorpions lost to undefeated Dragonesxx' on the opponent's court 73-88. Correcaminos outscored Panteras in a home game 96-56.
