2014 Liga Femenina Wrap-Up - Libertad takes the crown over Sol de America - Jan 18, 2015

Asuncion, Paraguay.- Team Libertad was the champion of Paraguay's 2014 Liga Metropolitana Femenina, by defeating Sol de America in 5 games (3-2) in the Finals, with a spectacular 63-59 victory in Game 5, played at Leon Condou Sports Complex in San Jose, Paraguay.

The team coached by Sara Pereira was led by Astrid Huttemann (180-F-92) with 15 points prior to leaving the game due to foul trouble. Brisa Silva (170-G-84) added 11 points, Carolina Caraves (177-F/C-92) 10, Heidy Closs (G/F-78) 10, Viviana Aponte (F-82) 9 and Rocio Insfran 8 more.

For Sol de America, coached by Cristian Viveros, the top scorers were Karina Pena with 17, Johana Ghiringelli with 12, Marta Peralta (171-G-93), Francisca Rojas (176-F-93) and Lidia Fernandez (175-F/C-84) with 8 points each and Rosaura Sosa (172-G-87) and Andrea Gomez (178-F-90) with 3 points each.

The league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) was Astrid Huttemann of Libertad. The top scorer was Carolina Caraves of Libertad and the top 3-point shooter was Andrea Gomez of Sol de America.

Libertad had won the championship for the las time back in 2012.
