Javier
Martinez
Unfortunalety for all basketball fans in Asuncion, the tip off of the 77th Metro Pro League
was postponed again for another 5 days for its start.

The decision was made due to the last and very hard going meeting among team s managers
and owners. The conflict was established beacause most teams besides Olimpia, questioned the
CPB the decision of letting play Javier Martinez (188-G-78, agency: DTMones) (Paraguayan All Teime Best Player) with Guillermo Araujo (204-C-82, agency: Pro Sports)
and 2 foreigners together.

Most teams considered that thehiring of Javier Martinez was like the hiring of a foreigener knowing his
basketball skills and background.

Fortunately a good decision was taken by the CPB letting all teams by equal to hire 3 foreigners and two GALACTICOS.
Galacticos are the so called Category of players where Guillermo Araujo, Bruno Zanotti (198-SF-82, college: Merrimack), Marcelo Piuma (197-PF-83). Jose Fabio (200-F-77), Alejandro
Peralta and Junior Peralta are included.

This list was established by the CPB to equal the forces among teams, but the coming of a retired Javier Martinez
killed all initial intentions and Managers had to re write the rules.

Unfortunately anothe week was lost, TV CABLE TTIGO SPORTS is upset beacause they said they are losing money, and of course
all players and coaches who were ready to start this past 15th.

We finally have a scheduled date, the 24th. The 77th METRO seems that it will be very competitive league. Eurobasket. com wishes
every team a great performance and congratulates the CPB by opening to 3 the number of foreigners that can be hired.
