Campo Alto - Sol de America 81-100 The game in was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Sol de America (4-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Campo Alto (2-7). Sol de America did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-81 on Thursday. Sol de America shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Argentinian guard Christian Schoppler (185-86) nailed 21 points and 8 assists for the winning side and the former international Leandro Ferreira accounted for 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Jose Barreto (185-1) came up with 19 points and center Alcides Fernandez (206-83) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Campo Alto in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sol de America maintains fourth place with 4-5 record. Campo Alto lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Visitors were defeated by third ranked San Jose (6-3) 76-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Olimpia. San Jose made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Olimpia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Scott Rogers (196, college: Trine) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists. Panamanian center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Edgar Riveros (184-91) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and American power forward Roquez Johnson (201-92, college: Mississippi St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Olimpia. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-3 record behind leader Olimpia. Defending champion Olimpia still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Libertad. Ciudad Nueva was crushed at home by 22 points 53-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. International forward Gabriel Peralta (201-95) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international forward Diego Lesme (203-95) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan Darwin-Jesus Rivera with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Dario Olmedo scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertad (7-2) used an opportunity after Olimpia lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Ciudad Nueva lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Libertad will play against Campo Alto (#5) in the next round.
