Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked San Jose as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Jose defeated second-ranked Libertad in Asuncion 101-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertad. It was a key game for the top position in the league. San Jose shot 69.1 percent from the field and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. San Jose outrebounded Libertad 39-15 including a 30-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Scott Rogers (196, college: Trine) who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Panamanian center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Manuel Aponte (179-92) produced 28 points and 4 assists for the guests. San Jose (8-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Olimpia and Libertad. Libertad will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. San Jose will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Olimpia. It will be extra interesting game as Olimpia is their local rival from Asuncion.

Sol de America maintains fourth place with 5-6 record. Defending champion Olimpia still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with San Jose and Libertad. Sol de America's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose.



Olimpia - Sol de America 92-95

Top ranked Olimpia (8-3) recorded its third loss in Asuncion. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Sol de America (5-6) 95-92. Sol de America made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Olimpia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
