Roquez Johnson
27-year old power forward Roquez Johnson (201-F/C-92) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Olimpia and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had a double-double of 34 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Sol de America (#4, 6-9) 90-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Olimpia to consolidate first place in the Paraguayan league. Olimpia have a solid 12-3 record. Johnson turned to be Olimpia's top player in his first season with the team. Roquez Johnson averages just after three games 12.7ppg and 7.7rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Jaime Lloreda (204-C-80) of league's second-best San Jose. He is Panamanian center in his first season at San Jose. In the last game Lloreda recorded impressive 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led San Jose to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Libertad (#3, 9-6) 92-70. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. San Jose consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team's 10-5 record is not bad at all. Lloreda is a newcomer at San Jose and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Jose Fabio (200-F/C-77) of Sol de America (#4). Fabio scored 23 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Fabio's great performance Sol de America lost 85-90 to #1 ranked Olimpia. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Sol de America ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fabio could help Sol de America to bring them higher in the standings. Fabio has a great season in Paraguay. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (3rd best). Jose Fabio has also Paraguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
