LNB Round 3 of Second Stage

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of league's leader Olimpia K. (2-1) against San Jose (3-0) 94-82 was the most important game of the last round. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia K.'s 40. They outrebounded Olimpia K. 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international forward Fernando Dose (200-94) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Ramon Zanchez contributed with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Juan Poison answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for Olimpia K.Olimpia K.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia K. will play next round against strong Libertad A. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. San Jose will try to continue on its current victory against Colonias G. at home.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Libertad A. (#3) and Ciudad N. (#5). Libertad A. (2-0) crushed visiting Ciudad N. (0-3) by 27 points 92-65. It was a great evening for international forward Jorge Sequera (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Diego Bareiro helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Sebastian Galarza (185-1) with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Ciudad N.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Libertad A. will play against Olimpia K. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ciudad N. will play against Paranaense and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in was also quite interesting. Paranaense (0-2) played at the court of Colonias G. (1-2). Colonias G. managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for Nelson Peralta who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Alex Romero came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for Paranaense in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Colonias G. will meet San Jose in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paranaense will play against Ciudad N. (#6) in Asuncion and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
