San Jose - Olimpia K. 94-82 First defeat of league's leader Olimpia K. (2-1) against San Jose (3-0) 94-82 was the most important game of the last round. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpia K.'s 40. They outrebounded Olimpia K. 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international forward Fernando Dose (200-94) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Ramon Zanchez contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five San Jose players scored in double figures. Juan Poison answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Federico Mellone (193-85) added 15 points in the effort for Olimpia K.Olimpia K.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia K. will play next round against strong Libertad A. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. San Jose will try to continue on its current victory against Colonias G. at home. It was a great evening for international forward Jorge Sequera (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Diego Bareiro (195-91) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Sebastian Galarza (185-1) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Lucas Saldivar scored 14 points. Ciudad N.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Libertad A. will play against Olimpia K. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ciudad N. will play against Paranaense and hopes to get finally their first victory. Forward Matheus Blaich (188-1) accounted for 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Colonias G. players scored in double figures. Alex Romero came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Cristhian Rodas added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Paranaense in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Colonias G. will meet San Jose in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paranaense will play against Ciudad N. (#6) in Asuncion and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
