Felix Perez - Mariscal E. 63-68 The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Felix Perez (1-1) in Asuncion on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Mariscal E. (1-0) 68-63. It was a great evening for Victor Ramires who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Edegar Alvarenga helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Mariscal E.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Federico Ferreira with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Maxsuel Roque scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Mariscal E. is looking forward to face Campo Alto (#4) in Asuncion in the next round. (#3) and Sol de America (#4). Colonias G. (1-1) crushed visiting Sol de America (0-2) by 46 points 98-52. Colonias G. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de America's 20. They outrebounded Sol de America 48-19 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Colonias G. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Sol de America's players. Sol de America was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Corbalan (185-1998) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Fabrizio Aquino (187-2001) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Colonias G. players scored in double figures. Octavio Caputo came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Gaston Candia added 11 points respectively for Sol de America in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
