LNB Round 2 of Regular Season- April 19, 2023
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Libertad A. - Colonias G. 94-68 First defeat of league's leader Colonias G. against Libertad A. 94-68 was the most important game of the last round. Libertad A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international forward Jorge Sequera (194-1988) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. International point guard Jorge Martinez (178-1998) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Libertad A. players scored in double figures. Juan Poison replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and the former international Sebastian Galarza (185-2001) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Colonias G.Colonias G.'s coach Juan Bidarra gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Colonias G. will play next round against strong Olimpia K. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena of Olimpia K.. Libertad A. will try to continue on its current victory against Atletico C.. It will be extra interesting game as Atletico C. is their local rival from Asuncion. Felix Perez won against visiting Atletico C. 86-72. They outrebounded Atletico C. 48-34 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international swingman Jose Rolon (193-2000) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Leandro Ferreira (184-1994) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Felix Perez players scored in double figures. Felix Perez's coach Ramon Ortiz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Kyle Lamonte (191-1984, college: William Carey) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Daniel Jara produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Felix Perez's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Asuncion San Jose. Campo Alto was smashed at home by 60 points 27-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Olimpia K. held Campo Alto to an opponent 17.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Campo Alto 49-21 including a 37-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olimpia K. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Campo Alto's players. Fabrizio Diaz notched 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Christian Alaekwe (193, college: St.Thomas, TX) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even 8 points and 5 rebounds by forward Guillermo Osorio (192-1985) did not help to save the game for Campo Alto. Darwinn Rivera added 5 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sol de America's 36. San Jose forced 22 Sol de America turnovers and outrebounded them 37-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Jose shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Sol de America's players. Alvaro Dominguez notched 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) to lead the effort and Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-1994) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. San Jose's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by Nicolas Escurra did not help to save the game for Sol de America. Juan Marti added 18 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Five San Jose and four Sol de America players scored in double figures.
