Kyle Lamonte
38-year old guard Kyle Lamonte (191-G-1984) put on an amazing game in the last round for Atletico C. and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 34 points adding five rebounds and two assists for Atletico C. as his team lost the game against Felix Perez (#5, 1-1) 72-86. Atletico C. moved-up to the 6th position in Paraguayan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 2 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Lamonte had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Atletico C. and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. William Carey University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lamonte is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.0ppg. Lamonte is in league's top in and averages solid 58.8% FGP. Worth to mention Lamonte played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
Second best performed player last round was Jose Rolon (193-G/F-2000) of Felix Perez. He is former international swingman in his first season at Felix Perez. In the last game Rolon recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Felix Perez to another comfortable win 86-72 over Atletico C. (0-2) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Rolon is one of the most experienced players at Felix Perez and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#8). He also registered 9.5 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to Alvaro Dominguez of San Jose (#3). Dominguez showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, six rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of San Jose, leading his team to a 111-70 easy win against Sol de America (#8, 0-2). San Jose has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Dominguez also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Dominguez has a great season in Paraguay. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.0apg (7th best).
